20th ANNIVERSARY OF 'COPS' GOING DVD!

That's right, ladies & gents, "Cops" is celebrating its 20th Season Anniversary with a DVD box set scheduled to debut in February 2008. The DVD will feature a wide variety of material, including the 20th Anniversary Special that aired this year, plus the Pilot Episode that launched the series originally. The latter will have commentary from John Langley, Sheriff Navarro, Jerry Wurms and Stephen Chao, the young Fox exec who sponsored the program and championed it from the get go.

In addition, the DVD 2 disc set will feature a "Cops on 'Cops'" segment that gives viewers a sampling of how police officers view the program from their own personal experience. The officers cover the country -- and the crimes – in slices of episodes in which they were featured. It's an "up close and personal" featurette that gives you behind-the-scenes information and commentary you won't find anywhere else.

Add to these ingredients a "countdown" of 20 segments from 20 seasons, ranging from your favorite moments of comedy to the all-time sequences of action, and you'll have a fair sampling of how the show has developed over the years. You'll also learn to appreciate the advances in technology, since "Cops" has come a long way in capturing these moments with more sophisticated technology, whether in the camera or the sound.

Other features cover "The 'Cops' Story," all about the history of "Cops" and how it came about, including insights and information on how it's kept going all these years -- with a nod to Inner Circle and their musical contribution. Plus "Lights, Camera...Action!" which captures some of the most adrenalin-pumping sequences from the show, captured from all over the country, and highlighting some of the "toughest takedowns."
And, finally, the entire show -- with commentary -- of "Las Vegas Heat," a special edition of "Cops" that was once intended as a spinoff series.

Last but not least is a segment on "Parodies and Tributes," with everything from "Something About Mary" to "Reno 911: Miami," with "X-Cops" and "Minority Report" thrown in between. This segment also brings back "Troops," the ingenious and hilarious spoof of what happens when you cross "Cops" with "Star Wars."

Anyway, you get the drift. This is the DEFINITIVE DVD "COPS" COLLECTION! We have spared no scene in filling it up with high octane fun and excitement, with no repeats -- I repeat, no repeats -- of material. Our goal was to celebrate the show and our fans with VALUE PLUS instead of a scrimpy DVD wannabe. So stay tuned for more information.

Remember, the date is February 2008....

On other fronts, "Cops" is soon going on hiatus as the 20th Season winds down -- at least in terms of production. Meanwhile, you'll still have plenty show airing between now and the summer....
